Titanfall, the debut title from Respawn Entertainment, is now accepting applications for it's Xbox One and PC beta test. The test, scheduled to start on February 14th (sorry, significant others) is set to include three game modes:Attrition (team deathmatch), Hardpoint Domination and Last Titan Standing.
If you're not familiar with Titanfall, it is a fast-paced multiplayer first-person shooter where you play as a pilot of a 24-foot high mech AKA Titan. The Titans in question are not your typical slow lumbering mechs... these things literally fly round the map at breakneck speed and can be equiped with a wide array of guns and gadets. Not only do you get to pilot one of them... at any moment you can leap out and take matters into your own hands while your Titan autonomously backs you up. With each pilot having it's own set of equipment, there is the scope for quite a lot of customisation.
Just to make matters more interesting, rather than having the multiplayer and a separate campaign for single-player, the game merges the two promising "heroic, set-piece moments".
Sounds like your kind of game? Head over to http://www.titanfall.com/beta and answer a few simple questions. Be warned, as it's an EA title, you will need an Origin account if you intend to play on the PC (it's really not as bad as some people claim).
If everything goes to plan, the game will be releasing on March 14th (March 11th in the US).
