The Bethesda conference was, with the exception of a couple of announcements, a little bit dull (in my opinion).  Those hoping for some hints about the next Elder Scrolls entry were certainly disappointed and, after getting clearly beaten into submission over paid mods on other people's platforms, it would appear that Bethesda are determined to make some money off your hard work...

They did have a few things to share, however, that weren't that bad.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

One of the two high points in the Bethesda show... a new entry in the excellent Wolfenstein series! BJ is back to show the Nazi's the errors of their ways and be a father?!  Due for release on the 27th of October.

The Evil Within 2

If you enjoyed the original horror game, you're in luck; the sequel promises to give you even more sleepless nights.  Certainly the trailer looks suitably messed up (in a good way).  Bonus surprise... it's out on Friday, October 13th, this year!

Fallout 4 VR

Throwing their chips in with the HTC Vive, Fallout 4 will be beaming into your face in October. Don't worry, there will still be plenty of settlements needing your help!

Doom VFR

As if Doom wasn't hectic enough, now you'll be able to play it in VR on your HTC Vive or Playstation VR.  I'm not sure how well it'll work without the ability to backpeddle or strafe, but time will tell.

Creation Club

Paid mods is something that Bethesda just can't leave alone.  I've got no problem with the theory; people like to get paid for their hard work; but the reality is that it's almost impossible to control with the original content makers often losing out to someone copying their work and getting there first.  They tried with Steam and failed, now they are rolling out their own platform for Skyrim and Fallout 4, Creation Club.  We'll see what happens but the response from the Internet has been pretty negative so far (surprising no one).

The Elder Scrolls Legends - Heroes of Skyrim

Bethesda's leap into online card games is getting an expansion at the end of the month, Heroes of Skyrim.  While it hasn't got the same sort of following as Hearthstone, Elder Strolls Legends is pretty fun, so it's good to see continued support.

Skyrim Switch

And in news that will not surprise anyone, Skyrim is coming to the Nintendo Switch, complete with Amiibo support (because who doesn't want to run round Skyrim as Link!?).  Looks great but I suspect the motion controls for weapons will get old really fast.

Quake Champions

Bethesda's reimagining of Quake is getting some new content. I wasn't very impressed with Quake Champions when I played in the closed beta (and it certainly didn't play anything like it does int the video below) but it is still in beta so we'll see what happens.  Clearly Bethesda is looking to draw the crowds in with the huge cash pot for their upcoming tournament.

Dishonored: Death of the Outsider

This stand-alone entry in the Dishonored series has you play Billie Lurk, reunited with her mentor, Daud, to pull of the ultimate assassination... of the Outsider!  Due on September 15th, let's hope they avoid the technical issues that plagued the release of Dishonored 2.

Not the strongest show, but it was good to see new entries for Wolfenstein and The Evil Within.
