Twitch.tv, probably the largest video streaming hub on the Internet, have announced that "there may have been unauthorised access to some Twitch user account information". Which, as you can imagine, is great news.
For the majority of users, this means that they have expired your passwords and stream keys.
If, however, you are one of the unlucky ones to have your information leaked, things are a little bit more scary. This could include:
Even though Twitch store password in an encrypted form, they believe that if you logged on to the site on March 3rd, there is a good chance your password was captured in clear text by "malicious code". Just how that code was able to be run on the Twitch site is unclear...
All kinds of awesome then.
To make matters worse, it would appear that some users (myself included) are not receiving their password reset emails and the Twitch support team are struggling to keep up with requests.
Obviously, if you use the same password for multiple sites, be sure to change all of them!
