Obviously, the biggest draw of Microsoft's conference at E3 this year was always going to be the new console, but it turned out that they had a lot more to show.

Xbox One X

Yes, that's right, the Xbox Scorpio's official name is the Xbox One X.  It's a tiny bit bigger that the Xbox One S (although a little slimmer), with a 2.3Ghz, 8-core CPU and 12Gb of GDDR5 RAM.  The big change, however, is the GPU, which is significantly more powerful that the Xbox One S GPU (1.172GHz with 40 CUs) and includes FreeSync.  The biggest talking point, however, was the price. As predicted by a number of key industry figures, the new Xbox One X is due on November 7th and will set you back £449/$499 at release, which is at least £100/$100 more than the PS4 Pro.  The Xbox is obviously more powerful making native 4K a reality, and while the PS4 Pro can (techically) do native 4K, not many games do (and certainly not at 60fps).

Clearly Microsoft are trying to correct the mistakes made with the original Xbox One and if you own a 4K TV, and don't currently own a PS4 Pro or a 4K capable PC, maybe you'll be willing to find the extra money.  I suspect the number of supported games will play a major role in whether or not Microsoft can win back a share of the market.

Assassin's Creed: Origins

And the worst-kept secret of E3 goes to... Assassin's Creed.  Pretty sure everything except the trailer was leaked well before the announcement... but it still looks great.  Due on October 27th, it'll see you climbing pyramids and fighting crocodiles in ancient Egypt.

State of Decay 2

I love the original State of Decay and often return to it for some zombie bashing so I'm really looking forward to the sequel with four-player co-op!

Sea of Thieves

Microsoft's title they like to roll out at any event, and with good reason, is back for E3 showing off more of the game; looting a sunken wreck, running away from sharks, fighting skeletons and exploring hidden caves (for more loot, obviously).

Crackdown 3

The super-cop game makes an over due return... EXPLOSIONS!

Anthem

If yesterday's reveal had you looking for more, Bioware didn't disappoint with today's video.

Forza Motorsport 7

Another year, another Forza.  Looks good in 4K...

Metro Exodus

A new Metro game?! Yes please.  Flee the ruins of Moscow and travel across Russia... just don't get too trigger happy with that ammo.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

The hit PC game is heading to Xbox! A slightly curious exclusive, but a great move by Microsoft.

Minecraft

It seems Microsoft are moving Minecraft forward with the Java version being renamed and all other versions (bar the Playstation) moving to cross-platform play.  On top of that, they are adding the "Super Duper" graphics pack in the Autumn which will move the mighty Minecraft to 4k.

The Darwin Project

A stylised, third-person battle royale game where the environment is just a hostile as the players... could be interesting.

Black Desert

Black Desert, the PC MMO, is making it's way over to Xbox and it looks great. It'll be interesting to see if they stick with the same level of micro transactions for the console version.

The Last Night

Channelling it's 2D Blade Runner, The Last Night was originally created as a Flash game for the CyberPunkJam (you can play the original at https://timsoret.itch.io/the-last-night).

The Artful Escape

Jumping through the air in a psychodelic lanscape playing a guitar made of light? Sure, why the hell not!

Tacoma

The new game from the creators of Gone Home places you 200,000 miles from Earth on the Lunar Transfer Station, Tacoma.  The trailer doesn't show a huge amount, but you'll be able to see the rest when it's released on August 2nd.

Super Lucky's Tale

Cute Oculus Rift platformer, Lucky's Tale, is heading to Xbox One without the VR...

Cuphead

Remember that 1930's cartoon inspired platformer everyone loved the look of? It's still going and now (finally) has a release date of September 29th.

Ashen

A new action survival RPG where the sun is no more and the only natural light comes from eruptions that cover everything in ash.  Oh, and there are unpleasant things that lurk in the dark (and it's not just the monsters).

Ori and the Will of the Wisps

The sequel to the award winning Ori and the Blind Forest is looking like it'll be just as amazing as the original game.

Dragon Ball FighterZ

A fight game set in the Dragon Ball Z universe? Why hasn't this happened sooner!?!

Life is Strange: Before the Storm

Set three years before the original game you'll be playing as Chloe Price, a rebel that forms an unlikely friendship with Rachel Amber.

Deep Rock Galactic

Fight, dig and explore your way through procedurally generated cave systems as a space dwarf. Uncover the riches, and make it out alive either alone or co-op with up to 3 other people.

As you can see, Microsoft had a LOT to show...
