In an announcement that surprised absolutely no-one, Bethesda/Zenimax have revealed that The Elder Scrolls Online will be going free-to-play for PC/Mac players on March 17th and launching on both PS4 and Xbox One on June 9th under the extended title of "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited".
Like a lot of F2P games, a new premium currency is to be introduced, Crowns, that will allow you to purchase optional content and customisation items. Players that do decide to subscribe (or continue their subscription) recieve an allotment of crowns, access to all ESO's downloadable content and a 10% bonus to XP, gold, crafting research and inspiration.
