SOE sold!
Posted Feb 2, 09:52 pm by Naiboss

Coming as a bit of surprise news, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) have been sold off by Sony to Columbus Nove, an investment management firm.  Under the new ownership they have been rebrnaded as Daybreak Game Company.

SOE/Daybreak have a wide range of current titles, including Planetside 2, DC Universe Online, a number of Everquest titles and H1Z1 which was recently "released" on Early Access.

John Smedley, President of Daybreak, was quick to answer a few key concerns on Twitter stating that their current games will not be affected by the sale/rebranding, Everquest Next is still being made and while Station Cash will rebranded soon, you will not lose anything.

He was also keen to point out that the sale also means that their games may make it on to the Xbox One and that he "can't wait to make Xbox One games!".

So far this sounds like a positive move for everyone... watch this space!
