Techland, those lovely people responsible for creating Dead Island and the soon-to-be-released Dying Light (which was pretty cool when I played it at Eurogamer) have released a new video for their new RPG, Hellraid.
Now using the Chrome Engine 6, the same as Dying Light, it's looking better than ever.
The game itself will be split into three sections: Story, Mission and Arena. With each playable solo or 2-4 player co-op.
The main story involves fighting a demonic invasion, using a wide variety of weapons and magic; eventually closing the gates of hell. The game now boasts a "class-free" ability tree and plenty of accessories, clothing and armour to allow you to customise your character to suit your playstyle.
Mission mode is a series of challenge maps, complete with leaderboards, while the arena is a survival mode where you face off against hoards of enemies.
It certainly looks the part and the more 'physical' style of melee combat is certainly a good fit so I'm rather looking forward to this one.
The bad news is that they've pushed back the release date (again) to accomodate the new changes and we won't see a full release until 2015 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
On the plus-side, if you're a PC owner, the game will be available on Steam Early Access sometime around Autumn this year and you'll be able to help shape the final product!
