In news that shouldn't really come as a surprise (given the number of rumours that have been doing the rounds), Harmonix have finally announced that Rock Band 4 is on the way for Xbox One and PS4.

They've teamed up with Mad Catz to provide the hardware and if you happen to be at PAX East this weekend you can even pre-order an exclusive Penny Arcade- themed guitar.

As a sweetener for anyone that has ever owned previous versions of Rock Band and the multitude of DLC tracks, Rock Band 4 will support all of the tracks since launch meaning there will be over 2000 tracks available.
