Mass Effect Andromeda

We finally have more information about the next instalment in the Mass Effect series, Andromeda!

On November 7th, N7 day, Bioware released a large amount of new information, a couple of new trailers and started the Andromeda Initiative.

Andromeda sees you take on the role of a Pathfinder, a blend of elite soldier, scientist and guide responsible for watching over an Ark transport spaceship and finding somewhere in the Helius cluster of the Andromeda galaxy to call home.

Shepard is gone, now replaced with Ryder (who, as before, can be male or female), the son/daughter of seasoned galactic explorer, N7 trainee and Pathfinder for the Andromeda Initiative, Alec Ryder.  The story unfolds in the Andromeda galaxy, 600 years from Earth as you attempt to find a new home for humanity.

Judging by the trailer, the journey doesn't go quite to plan and some of the residents of the Andromeda galaxy clearly take offense at your appearance. Expect to spend a lot of time 'hugging' cover and using a variety of weapons, biotics and gadgets to deal with your enemies, as well as spending time trying to romance your various companions and admiring the stunning views.  A new and improved version of the Mako has been shown but it appears to be without any combat abilities.

No doubt we will see a lot more information between now and the release date, March 2017.  In the meantime, check out the trailer below and be sure to head over to MassEffect.com and sign up to the Andromeda Initiative to unlock some in-game bonuses.
