As opening acts go, EA certainly delivered a strong set this year with "EA Play". Hightlights included:
Titanfall 2
Despite the earlier leak (including the single-player trailer), which can be found here, Respawn revealed that there will be 6 new Titans and a grappling hook. a quick multi-player trailer. Gameplay looks even faster and more frantic than before, with lots of cool new gadgets and weapons.
Madden NFL 17
Yes, the Madden series is back for another season (no real surprise) and EA had a lot to say about competitive gaming, introducing new live events for everyone to participate in.
Mass Effect Andromeda
Now THIS is one I've been waiting for. Bioware are still teasing us with the details but I'll take what I can. Set in the Andromeda galaxy, almost everything in this game is new: new species, new planets, etc... and you are part of an expedition to find a new home. As we already know, the Mako returns but is now "fun" (thanks to the Need For Speed team, apprently). No real trailer but a very cool video none the less.
Play To Give
EA are running a new scheme where they will give a total of $1 million to charity and you can participate (right now) by playing some of their top game titles. Full details can be found on their website here: http://www.ea.com/play2016/play-to-give
FIFA 17
FIFA will now include story mode and several key parts of the game have been reworked: physical play, player AI, goal opportunities. More on the story mode in this trailer:
EA Originals
Following on from the success of Unravel, EA have introduced EA Originals for supporting smaller developers where all of the profit will go to the developers. The first title to be revealed under the new banner is Fe where you play a young cub that communicates with the forest is lives in, and the other inhabitants, using music.
Star Wars
EA have a significant number of Star Wars titles in the works: a new Battlefront; a third-person action game from Respawn and (the one I'm REALLY looking forward to) an action-adventure game from Visceral (that now includes Amy Hennig of Uncharted fame).
Battlefield 1
To close out their briefing, EA showed some more of Battlefield 1 and then streamed an hour long 64-player multiplayer match with a number of celebreties (including Jamie Foxx, Zac Efron, Terry Crews, Tyrese Gibson, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg and Zedd).
