It's about time... all about time!

Recently Fallout 3 (the PC version) has been playing a significant role in my playtime, alongside Saint's Row 2 and Fable 2 on the Xbox. Absolutely loving Fallout 3 at the moment, it just seems to work regardless of the mood I'm in. Just loads of different things to do whether I'm interested in sneaking around, collecting things and using the VATS system to stealthily take out the raiders and ghouls or if I'm more interested in being a bit noisier I can just grab the mini gun or missile launcher and charge around like a loon attempting to hand out more damage than I collect. The moral greyness of the game also really appeals. I like the fact that, while there are repercussions, you can do pretty much anything you like. For example, one of the first missions you're likely to stumble across (and has been mentioned quite a bit) centres around Megaton... one person would like you to disarm the bomb in the middle of town, another would like you to rig it to explode. I decided to agree to both (curious as to how the game would deal with it and whether or not the charges given to you to rig the bomb were worth anything) before changing my mind and gunning the 'bad guy' down in the middle of the tavern. Well, it made me chuckle...

I've already bought the DLC for Fallout 3 (but yet to actually play it, lol) and was reasonably impressed by the progress the Games for Windows client has made over the last couple of months. They've still got some way to go, like the fact while we now have a stand-alone client, it is running as a standard application and can't be minimised to the notification area (like Steam or even the EA Downloader). Hopefully they'll continue to make progress.

Having also picked up the DLC for Fable 2 when it got released, I finally got round to playing it last night... lol. So far it seems like a fair amount of content for the cost so I've got no complaints. It'll be interesting to see if the GTA4 DLC holds up to scrutiny now it's been announced it'll be 1600 points (£13.99). Seems like a lot for an add-on.
