Doom
Posted 486 days ago by Naiboss

Like, I suspect, many others of my generation, the original Doom was a key moment in my gaming history.  I was working for Future Zone/Electronics Boutique when we received a box of the shareware disks to put on our shelves but it was already well known to me.  While it wasn't the game... read more.

There isn't much that you actually need to know about Serious Sam..You shoot stuff and body bits go everywhere.     If you insist, there is actually a story line. The game is set in 22nd century Egypt during an alien invasion. Humanity is losing the fight... read more.

Bioshocking
Posted 1660 days ago by Naiboss

I am a broken man.  I completed Bioshock Infinite last night and I woke up this morning still thinking about the ending.  Don't worry, I have no plans to spoil anything for anyone, no matter how much I'd like to talk about it.  Needless to say, the team at Irrational Games have... read more.

EA and DICE have been teasing for a little while now, and we all knew it was coming, but the world has finally got the chance to take a look at Battlefield 4... and it didn't disappoint. At the end of this article you'll find a full 17 minutes of in-game footage taken from the single player... read more.

Tired Ops 2
Posted 1681 days ago by Naiboss

Sometimes, probably more often than I like to admit, I look at the games industry and wonder who is pulling the strings.  Developers like 38 Studios/Big Huge Games produce something as massive, detailed and incredible as Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (which I still haven’t reviewed as... read more.

Having a blast
Posted 1687 days ago by Naiboss

They've talked about it for a while but the latest video from SOE finally shows us a few details from the next big patch. The two main highlights have to be the new Empire-specific rocket launchers and the changes to the Flash (quad-bike). The Flash will now allow infiltrators to cloak for a short... read more.

Bungie reveal a tainted future
Posted 1709 days ago by Naiboss

After a fair amount of hype, Bungie's new first person shooter has finally been revealed. Set in a future where the arrival of an entity known as the Traveler heralded both a "Golden Age" for our civilization and an abrupt end to everything leaving realatively few survivors.  Gathered in a... read more.

It's been a looong time coming but the the sequel to the fun first person shooter, Tribes 2 (yes, I'm ignoring Tribes: Vengance for good reason), is finally here in the form of free-to-play, Tribes: Ascend.  If you've never played a Tribes game, you may find the movement a little... different.... read more.

After a brief threat of a blackout by the Battlefield community, DICE/EA caved and revealed a long (but not complete) list detailing the contents of the net major patch to Battlefield 3.  As you'd imagine, there is no ETA on this patch yet but it certainly seems to answer a lot of questions... read more.

RAGE... at John Carmack
Posted 2206 days ago by Naiboss

If you’ve not heard of ID software’s John Carmack, he could be considered one of the pioneers of PC gaming and (partly) responsible for some of the games (Wolfenstein 3D, Doom and Quake) that shaped the first-person shooters… he is also one of the driving forces behind their... read more.

Artificial Intelligence?
Posted 2324 days ago by Naiboss

If you are at all interested in Brink, you've probably read quite a lot of comments about it so far.  The vocal minority (as far as I can  tell) appear to be rather unhappy Xbox 360 owners getting some pretty bad lag when attempting to play online. I don't think the PC  version has... read more.

According to Homefront, "Home is where the war is"... and it certainly tries really hard to convince you that your home, in this instance America, has become a battlefield. If you've read anything about the single-player side of the game, you should already be aware of two things: it can be a... read more.

This week I playing two new, very different games: Trine, a physics-based platform game, and Arma 2, a military simulator. They couldn't be more different... in more ways that one. So, with the release of the third DLC for Fallout 3, Broken Steel, they are finally going to be raising the level cap to 30 and remove the ending from the main game so you can continue... sounds great doesn't it? My problem is... I'm already level 20 and have been some time. I have already... read more.

Just a quick word of warning... if your do have Fallout 3 and have installed it on to a drive other than your C drive (or whichever drive you have Windows installed on) you are VERY likely to have problems with the DLC, Operation Anchorage. It's about time... all about time!

Recently Fallout 3 (the PC version) has been playing a significant role in my playtime, alongside Saint's Row 2 and Fable 2 on the Xbox. Absolutely loving Fallout 3 at the moment, it just seems to work regardless of the mood I'm in. Just loads of different things to do whether I'm interested in... read more.
